Neil was born in Downey, California on June 1, 1950 and left us on January 28, 2010. Neil resided in Bakersfield, California since moving there as an infant. He served in the United States Air Force and traveled many places in doing his duty.
Neil was first a dedicated husband and father as well as grandfather. He had many passions with one of them being the cutting horse. Neil’s passion and knowledge of the cutting horse industry was a huge influence in making the Kern County Cutting Horse Association (KCCHA) the great success that it still is today. His wife, Donna, and their 3 daughters, Amanda, Alicia, and Andrea, were also a part of the association. Donna is an NCHA secretary and is still acting secretary for KCCHA.
Neil put his passion and talent into his horses and did much of his own training with success. You could just see his eyes light up when talking of the horses he was training and showing. He was always willing to help others in and out of the show pen as well. Neil was very kind hearted and had a very enthusiastic mind, he loved trying new things! Neil was a wonderful person and will be very missed by all that had the opportunity to know him.
