Wagonhound Land and Livestock is a working ranch with some of the top American Quarter Horses and Red Angus cattle in the country, and operations spanning more than 150,000 acres.

Named for a creek that runs through it, Wagonhound Land and Livestock is headquartered 20 miles south of Douglas, Wyoming, along the Laramie Range of the Rocky Mountains. Wagonhound Creek received its name due to the number of wagons on the nearby Oregon Trail that, while crossing the creek, broke their “hounds,” the part of the wagon that connects the tongue and axle.

Wagonhound Land and Cattle features one of the top equine breeding facilities and training operations in the state. An outstanding broodmare band is housed there, and the ranch makes use of its own stallions – NCHA Open Finals Champion WR THIS CATS SMART and AQHA World Champion GENUINE MASTERPIECE – as well as some of the other top cutting and cow horse stallions in the industry. The ranch’s cattle operations include 2,500 of the finest Red Angus cows in the market. They are selected and managed to produce high quality replacement heifers and the highest grade of beef.

Wagonhound Farms includes 4,000 acres of premium alfalfa and specializes in raising the finest dairy and horse hay available. More than 20,000 tons of alfalfa hay are produced annually. Wagonhound’s outfitting services is anchored by the trophy elk that are available on the ranch, but there is also hunting for mule and whitetail deer, antelope, bear, waterfowl and turkey.
